Diwali

We have been learning about Diwali.
What facts did you learn?
How does it compare to your celebrations for the New Year?
What special celebrations do you have in your family?  Can you tell us a bit about it?

Acceptable Behaviour

We have been discussing and working hard on what is acceptable and what is unacceptable behaviour.  We can easily name what is and what isn't.
What are you good at?  What do you need to improve on?  This can be at school or at home or out and about in the community.
Don't forget to put your name at the end.

Rothesay Bay

Our Rothesay Bay beach trip was fabulous.
Great weather, super parent helpers & fantastic kids!
What did you enjoy the most?  Why?
Is there anything you would change if we went there again?
Don't forget to write your name at the end.

Waiting for everyone to arrive from school.  Raincoats on just incase!
What lies within the dark, spooky cave?
Making our way along the waterfront towards Murrays Bay
Time for some morning tea
And some 'chit chat'
Looks yummy!
Field games
Our time on the playground
Celene teaching us how to make a flower out of flax
The finished product
Picnic lunch with the girls
Time to play naughts and crosses
A butterfly sculpture
A kingdom perfect for Mrs Chambers
This one even has a moat!

Senses Poems

The most beautiful beach in the world - Uretiti
I really enjoyed reading your senses poems this week.
Write one to share about 'The Beach'.
Think about sounds, sights, smells, tastes and things you feel or can feel at the beach.
I see...
I smell...
I taste...
I hear...
I feel...
Remember to describe what you can sense e.g. I can hear the waves crashing loudly on the white sandy beach.
Put your name at the end.

Music with Mrs Hohaia

Today when I called in to see you at music with Mrs Hohaia, I was so impressed with your singing, so I thought I'd video you all.  Share it with your mum and dad and tell us what they thought.  Don't forget to write your name at the end.

Tadpole Blues

Yesterday I had a body and a tail
A body and a tail, body and a tail
Yesterday I had a body and a tail
Today I've got two legs as well

What is happening to me
Whatever can it be
I'm not very happy and that's because
I liked the way I was

Well blow me down, it's happenin' again
Happenin' again, happenin' again
Blow me down, it's happenin' again
There's two legs growing at the front as well

What is happening to me
Whatever can it be
I'm not very happy and that's because
I liked the way I was

Uh oh, what's going on, my tail is getting shor-orter
Tail is getting shor-orter, tail is getting shor-orter
What's going on, my tail is getting shor-orter
It's going, going, gone - oh no

What is happening to me
Whatever can it be
I'm not very happy and that's because
I liked the way I was

Well now I'm a frog and I've more or less got used to it
More or less got used to it, more or less got used to it
But sometimes a tadpole swims up to have a quiet chat
And I know what he's going to say

What is happening to me
Whatever can it be
I'm not very happy and that's because
I liked the way I was

Now listen - it's really rather nice to be a frog
And live at the bottom of a bog
So don't be concerned or worry about a thing
Come on and sing-sing-sing

Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la, Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-lah-lah-lah
Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la, Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-lah-lah-lah
Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la, Lah-lah-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-lah-lah-lah [fade]
